Oh how I have missed you....

Holiday craziness... enough said! As I sit here I wonder how I ever thought I could sit down and write a full sentence with an almost 15 month running around like someone let her drink a pot of coffee.

I have no idea how I've ended up with a toddler but somewhere along the lines it happened. She's not just walking anymore, she's running. Words are coming out her mouth right and left, some are cute and some are making me think mommy and daddy need a swear jar in the house! She's up to 9 teeth and working on number 10 and in the last few days has decided nursing isn't as important as it was a week ago.

This is a big part of why I've been away so long. I want to wean, she wasn't showing interest and it was making me miserable and frustrated. So after consenting to wait until after the holidays to push the issue she randomly has decided to start dropping nursing sessions one after the other! I hope to God she continues to do so! I don't mind if she hangs on to morning or evening sessions for now but I'd like to not have a pointy-teethed toddler hanging from my breasts 8 times a day while I try to figure out times to clean, do dishes, do laundry, grocery shop... you get the point!

Meanwhile the farmhouse has been overrun with new and loud interesting toys that have minds of their own and like to scare the shit out of me at 11pm when I'm turning out the lights and heading up the stairs to bed! K  had a very special Christmas and we blessed with many many new treasures from all the people who love her. Mommy couldn't get the tree down fast enough so that I could have more space to store said treasures! The rest of the Christmas decor is still up but dammit that tree is GONE! Haha!

The rest my friends will have to wait until later because my mind reading child has listened to my thoughts and knows I was talking about how well she was doing with nursing and has decided now sounds like a good time for a snack!

4 teeth!

Bug now has 4 teeth! Of course much to my dismay it's the top right and then the next one over. So she's got two teeth on the top right and none on the top left! Looks like we may have a very crooked smile for her first birthday photo shoot next week! Oh well she's still stinking cute! :)

Yesterday my parents came up and helped me remove the rest of the old carpet that was in the living room. Now we are living on a linoleum floor with just an old carpet remnant in the part where the couch and t.v. are. I went today to Lowe's and picked out our new carpet. Nothing fancy just a tan-ish colored Stainmaster carpet. Hopefully it won't be too long before I get a phone call from Lowe's saying that their people are coming out to do the measurements and we can get the new carpet installed! I'm really excited!

I also picked up the paint for the living room and hope to get the one wall primed tonight after K-bug goes to bed! Hopefully the entire living room will be painted before the carpet guys come! So much going on but man I am just overjoyed that Bug will be able to crawl around in our ENTIRE living room and won't be stuck just in the small part we have cordoned off for her now! :)

Ohh! I almost forgot to tell you! She's also finally figured out how to clap! Momma's so proud!

Teething is Evil

I am so ready for this tooth to be down and to stop hurting my sweet baby! She won't nap today and if she does it's for 20-30 minutes before she's awake again and crying in pain. I have tried ibuprofen, Hylands Teething Tablets, frozen teething rings, and partially frozen wet wash cloths and nothing is giving her more than a little bit of a reprieve. I feel so awful for her and awful for me too because I have no clean underwear and I can't seem to even get a load of laundry done! Haha!

I've been successful in distracting her for short amounts of time with soft foods and loud obnoxious toys, but like I said it's only a short distraction and she realizes it hurts again. I wish I could just kiss her and make her pain go away but she doesn't even want to snuggle me :(

3 teeth, birthdays, and a black eye!

Yesterday my parents came up in the morning so that my dad could see K-bug. They played on the floor with her for an hour or more! She loved it! While they were playing K started grinding her teeth so Grammie stuck her finger in there and found out Bug broke her 3rd tooth through! She now has two bottom ones and the top right. She's getting so big, I can't stand it!

In the afternoon we went up to Aunt A's house with the family to celebrate S's dads 63rd birthday! (If you're reading this HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!) Lots of yummy food and a pretty good cake made by yours truly! K loves playing with her cousins, they have so much fun together, plus the big kids love getting together too!

A Word of Caution:  you my blog friends... never ever get in the way of a 20 month old boy and his  

flying plastic toy microphone of doom!!

Haha! My poor nephew didn't want to share his toys and decided to chuck his toy across the room which caught me right on the bone above my eye! OUCH!

number 2

K's second tooth came through today! Couldn't believe it two teeth in less than a week!

S also found Little Miss K in a sitting position with her arms up on the side rail of her crib today when he went to get her from her nap! Looks like it's time to lower her crib down a notch. She'll be pulling herself up into a standing position before we know it! In other news she's still skooching backwards but no forward movement just yet. Expecting it won't be long before she starts crawling!

It was a gorgeous day here today at the farmhouse, the weather was in the mid 70's with lots of sunshine! S's brother and his family came over to do a little metal scraping. So SIL and I took their 4 year old and K up to the local ice cream shop to have this summer's first official ice cream cone! We had a really good time and I think K enjoyed her first cone (of course she only got 3 small licks and mommy ate most of it)! I'm glad we got the chance to get outside and enjoy the weather while we can because now it's thundering and lightening out there... we've had some pretty wicked storms the last few days!

TEETH!

All the fussiness, drooling and gnawing on things has finally paid off! K's bottom right tooth broke through the surface today! Can't believe all the milestones she's working on this month!
